Christy Williams Wins Local MBPW Young Careerist Award
Williams Selected to Represent Charlotte Chapter in BPW-NC State Competition
CHARLOTTE, NC. - May 20, 2010 - Charlotte Web Design firm
CC Communications, Inc. is pleased to announce that Christy Williams has been named winner of the 2010 Metropolitan Business & Professional Women’s (MBPW) Young Careerist Award.
Williams was selected from a field of competing professionals and entrepreneurs after submitting a detailed biography, a written essay, and an accompanying 4-minute speech. All award applicants had to be between the ages of 21-35, and meet qualifying criteria regarding MBPW membership and career performance. Subject matter for the essay and speech was selected from topics provided in advance by MBPW.
 The essay and speech assignment was to take one leading issue from the Business & Professional Women’s (BPW) Legislative Platform and serve as a lobbyist for that issue. Williams selected Equal Pay for Women in the Workforce, targeting her winning essay and speech material to a U.S. Senator whose voting record opposes that issue.
Williams is now preparing to represent the Charlotte-based MBPW at the NC state level of the Young Careerist competition. At the state level she will be called upon to deliver her winning speech without notes before an audience of BPW-NC judges, mentors and peers.
Christy Williams is the Sales Manager for
CC Communications, where she has served as an important member of the Sales team for over 7 years. MBPW was founded in 1964 and now has over 70 members representing a variety of businesses and professions.
The Virginia Allan Young Careerist Program is a Signature Event of BPW-NC that recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of successful young individuals.
